Based in Chester, this technically innovative company are looking for a Head of Technology (Agile, Team Leadership) to join them. As the Head of Technology you will lead and manage a team of IT professionals across the business (covering software development and infrastructure), as well as being responsible for the coaching and development of their respective managers. You will ensure that the whole team operates under a robust strategy and oversee the technical delivery in an Agile environment.
The Role
The role will cover a variety of tasks and responsibilities, including but not limited to technical recruitment; team leadership, strategic product and project delivery, high level and technical decision making, and management of the IT infrastructure and resources.
You will be a highly self-motivated and strong leader, able to demonstrate outstanding skills in problem solving and organisation. You'll be liaising with stakeholders and staff at all levels, and representing the company within the industry as an authority in their sector, making contributions to the wider technical community as required. You'll also have a thirst for technical knowledge and a significant interest in new and emerging technologies, ensuring the company's technical strategy is cutting edge.
Head of Technology Role Requirements
Experience of leading multiple, large-scale technology teams
Solid understanding of Agile delivery with experience of working in Agile environments
Advanced level (knowledge and experience) of programming languages and methodologies
Experience of managing, directing and motivating staff to deliver projects with stretching scope and objectives
The ability to produce quality written specifications, strategy and implementation communication
Degree in a relevant subject, with a solid technical background and understanding of Software Engineering
Able to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
Experience at advising key stakeholders at senior and Board level
